Adult Foundation Swim Classes

We understand that learning to swim as an adult can be both exciting and intimidating, especially if you’re starting as a beginner or have had past experiences that make you feel anxious around water. Our Adult Foundation Swimming Classes are designed specifically for individuals like you – those who are ready to take the plunge but need a supportive, understanding environment to do so.

Our Foundation Adult Swim Lessons are $24.75 per week or $19.80 concession.

Our Beginner Adult Swim Lessons are $24.75 per week or $19.80 concession.

At the intermediate level, we emphasise the refinement of strokes, advanced breathing techniques, and increased endurance. Our classes are structured to provide a balanced mix of instruction, practice, and feedback.

Richard
I’ve been a recreational swimmer all my life and love being in the water. I want to share that experience with others.
I love to teach adults how to relax and feel confident in the water so that they can swim safely and confidently and enjoy the water like I do. Swimming is such an important life skill especially in Australia, and I love helping people in their journey to achieve that life skill.
In previous lives I’ve been an oven cleaner, a tram conductor and a university lecturer.

I have been swim teaching since 2009, a Teacher in Charge since 2011, and I really enjoy teaching a life skill to students!
I’m a lifetime resident of Darebin and have been a patron of NARC for 57 years.
I’m a family man that enjoys attending most sports, AFL, ARL, Netball & cricket, and am currently on the Darebin RSL Committee.
