Get Active in Winter

Get Active in Darebin is a FREE community-based exercise program aimed at increasing the physical activity and wellbeing levels of Darebin residents, as well as engaging under-represented groups into physical activity.

Northcote Aquatic Recreation Centre (NARC) in partnership with the City of Darebin encourages everyone to get active – so if you’re on a tight budget and are looking for free exercise options – come and join our FREE programs with Get Active in Winter!

Most activities are catered for people of all ages, abilities and fitness levels, and facilitated by qualified instructors and coaches. Bring your own water, towels and a mat (if required) and join in on the fun – just register below so we know how many of you are coming to each activity!

Foundation Cycle

Foundation Cycle is a 30-minute low-impact cycle class focused on learning the basics and building confidence on the bike. It’s ideal for those new to cycle classes, anyone wanting to move at a slower pace, or seniors seeking a supportive and comfortable ride.

Aqua Pilates

Experience this moderate resistance, low impact workout that blends the mindful, core-strengthening principles of Pilates with the soothing supportive power of water. Designed to bring exercises from Mat Pilates to the water.

Main benefits: tone muscles, improve posture, work flexibility and mobility, build stability without straining your joints. Perfect for all fitness levels.

Barre Fusion

Join us for a fusion of ballet, yoga and Pilates. Designed to challengencore stability and balance using bodynweighted movements, with light hand weights, Pilates rings and balls. Suitable for all fitness levels.

Active Teen Skill-X

Join our Teen Small Group Training sessions for a personalised fitness experience! For teens 12–17 years, this class offers a fun and supportive environment where you can work out with peers while receiving tailored
coaching. Each session focuses on building strength, endurance, and agility through a variety of exercises, including circuit training and team challenges. Perfect for all fitness levels. Limited spots.
