Our local leisure spaces are more than venues to swim, play, move or unwind – they’re places where community comes together.
The DEI Committee brings together voices from across all five Clublinks‑managed Darebin leisure sites: Northcote Aquatic & Recreation Centre (NARC), Bundoora Park Public Golf Course, Northcote Public Golf Course, Narrandjeri Stadium & Darebin Community Sports Centre(DCSS) – collectively known as Darebin Stadiums.
Why a DEI Committee?
Darebin is one of Melbourne’s most diverse communities, and our leisure facilities should reflect that. The DEI Committee exists to help ensure everyone feels welcome, represented and supported when they walk through our doors – no matter their background, identity or abilities.
Meeting quarterly, the committee is a collaborative space where people can:
- Share lived experiences and different perspectives
- Contribute ideas that help shape inclusive programs, events and services
- Highlight barriers to participation – and help us remove them
- Support welcoming environments for people of all ages, cultures and abilities
You don’t need to be an expert in diversity or inclusion – just someone who cares about fairness, access and community connection.
Who Can Join?
The DEI Committee is open to both leisure staff and local community members from across Darebin. Whether you regularly use our venues or simply want to help make community sport and recreation more inclusive, your voice matters.
We especially welcome:
- People passionate about inclusion and equity
- Community advocates and supporters
- Those curious to learn and listen
- Anyone who wants to help shape welcoming local spaces
Different perspectives help create better outcomes — and every contribution counts.
What’s in It for the Community?
By joining the DEI Committee, you’ll be helping to:
- Influence real, practical changes at local leisure facilities
- Make sport, recreation and wellbeing more accessible for everyone
- Strengthen community connections across Darebin
- Ensure our venues continue to reflect the people who use them
This is a chance to move beyond conversation and be part of positive, community‑led change.
